How do i love thee - Day Five...

Welcome to the last day of the Valentines week... I have really enjoyed making all these projects...so much that i made them all in one day!!!! as i couldnt put the line down!!!

Here is my last project of the week... a little valentines gift that i have made for my husband...
This was very quick and easy to make...
I started out with a small brown envelope...in fact i bought a pack of them from Tesco for about 50p...I covered the front of it in a small rectangle piece of the Love Struck pattern paper.

I then wrapped a long rectangular piece of the text paper all the way round...

Here is what it looks like from the back...

As you can see i scalloped the lip of the sticky part of the envelope just to add more detail.

The wrap around comes off...
I then made the inside...

I plan on writing things like...breakfast in bed...an evening watching a football match etc underneath...
The products that i have used for this weeks projects are:

Pattern paper:

Be mine stripe
Cupid
Die cut stamp
Heart Floral
Heart Vine
News Print Heart
Newsprint word
Pattern Heart
Valentine Tag

Lettering:
Thickers - lullaby white

Pins:
Heart shape pins

Buttons:
Clear buttons - best thing ever invented!!! use them all the time i love them!!!!

Thanks for popping by this week. I have really enjoyed myself and i enjoyed making these projects for you. I hope i have given you even a little idea for your own valentine projects. If you have questions about anything or have an idea for what you would like to see on the blog in the coming months then please email me on wendy@bbbweb.com...i am always around to answer anything.

How do i love thee...Day four

One of the best things that i ever learnt to make was this origami box... i use them all the time for presents and i have even been known to make them and put them in my kitchen drawer when i needed something to put something in...they are quick and easy to do.

I like to give my sons teachers something for Valentines day as they take such good care of him. And this year i am going to make them these boxes..

How to make them? well i tried to take a photo tutorial for them but to be honest this video shows it much better.

I used two of the pattern papers to make this box.
I decorated the front of this box...
Here is a picture of the side so you can see the bottom part of the box

The pattern papers from the Making Memories Valentine line made making this one really easy! I am planning to make a few more of these and putting chocolates in them for Harrys teachers!!!

Come back 2m to see the final project idea using this pattern paper line... x

How do i love thee Day three

This is the last card for this week, that i have done using the new Making Memories valentine line.

This card is a simple one and very easy to make. The base of this card is covered with the pattern paper called Be mine stripe ( the non stripy side) I then scalloped a white cardstock rectangle. The size of this rectangle is 13.5 across and 7cm.

I made the square sentiment in the centre of the card using the pattern paper valentine tag for the square for the sentiment.
I then added the paper flower...
The flower is made with this punch...

The squares on this pattern paper are the size 4.5cm by 4.5cm.
Thanks for looking today... come back 2m and i have a valentine project for you...

How do i love thee Day two

Welcome to day two of this weeks valentine post. I used a rectangular card for this one...
I used the pattern paper called Newsprint Heart for the base of the card.

I then cut out a strip of the newsprint pattern paper ... this strip of paper that goes down the middle is 8.5cm by 14.5cm.

I then cut out a smaller rectangle from the Newsprint Heart ( the circle side) to the size 8.5cm by 9.5cm. I added scallops to the top and the bottom of this and then adhered it.

To make the square

I used a scalloped edge square punch to cut out a scalloped square from some white cardstock...
I then chose my sentiment from the Valentine tag pattern paper...cut it out and mounted it on some of the pink side of the MM pattern paper.

Thanks for looking today and i will see you 2m with another card x

How do i love thee!!! Day one

As always after christmas the new lines for Valentines start to roll in... the line that came into Papermaze the other day was the new Making Memories line called Love Struck.

All i can say is gorgeous, gorgeous and more gorgeous!!!!! Every single sheet is just as gorgeous as the others!!!

I used nearly off the pattern papers in the line for the following valentine things...i will give you a complete list of the papers used in the last valentine post later on in the week.

I have picked a few to show you... these are the ones that i used the most on all the projects that you will see!!! these are a must ( in my opinion) that you HAVE to buy if you buy any of this line...

This one called News print heart is good as i cut out alot of the hearts and used them... also the brown on the other side compliments the pink perfectly!

This sheet called valentine tag made easy work of the cards as you can cut them out instead of using it as a whole sheet!!!

I think this one speaks for itself!!! it is called Newsprint word perfect to balance the pink and the brown!!!

Anyway i have a few projects and cards to show you this week using this line... First up here is the first card...
This card is simple, easy to do but very effective!!!
I used a square card for this one... the small squares are the size 3 1/2cm by 3 1/2cm. I cut them out of several of the different pattern papers.
I placed the squares onto the card and then using a black pen i added some black lines in between them. I cut out the 'hugs and kisses' sentiment from the pattern paper that i showed you earlier in the post...

I then cut out one of the hearts from the pattern paper, again the one earlier in the post, added some pop dots to the back and adhered it to the card.

To make white spots on buttons, just use a white pen...just make sure you leave it to dry a while before touching it or they do smudge.

Well that is it for today, come back 2m and see yet another card i made using this line.

Back to School.....

.....with October Afternoon! They have come up with yet another great range of papers, this time with a retro school theme, called Report Card. I was lucky enough to receive some to work with, and decided to scrap my son's love for books and reading:

I chose one of the patterned papers as my background, then added a second background of Bazzill cardstock on which to scrap the main design. I used vertical and horizontal strips of patterned paper, placing a strip of the Recess PP at an angle.

The collection comes with a great sheet of stickers, I chose the journaling spot sticker as a background for my title, layering it with the photo and another sticker:

I added a few more stickers and brads as accents, and finished with a strip of gorgeous velvet ribbon (find more here), and a handmade embellishment of stitched button and chipboard star (similar here):

From the crop ladies...

Our Christmas crop, back in December, was in the midst of the first lot of bad snow, and so although we didn't cancel, there were only 11 of us (about a quarter of what there is usually!). We always have a challenge kit, with a prize at Christmas and because of the unusual circumstances, we extended the challenge into January's crop. So Saturday saw many of the ladies completing Christmas layouts using the Making Memories mistletoe papers and other embellishments provided in the kit. I managed to get a few pictures before my camera battery went dead and thought I would share them on here - it's always interesting to see how the same kit can provide many different variations!

And the winner, who was chosen at random, was Louise with her layout Santa Baby

Canvas workshop

I thought you might like to see some photos of the canvas workshop that Carol is running in February.
You can see from the pictures what a range of techniques are used - embossing, stamping, painting, shrink plastic and many more! Obviously you don't need to have the same initial on it, you can personalise it for you! And the colours can be changed too.

The workshop runs on Saturday Feb 13th from 10am - 4pm, if you are interested please feel free to email us or you can book online here :)

PLAYFUL PRIMA

I just love everything prima does and these papers are no exception. I decided to keep this layout really simple as you can see:

steps

1 using paint and a crafting sponge dab the paint to create a sky feeling top left of the layout place to one side to dry

2 cut and follow the pattern of the outside of the paper to give the layout a scalloped edge then mount this onto white card stock

3 using a piece of felt and some scrappers string stitch the top part as shown then glue this into place

4 cut a strip of blue card stock layer this onto your felt and using a strip of patterned paper overlap as shown

5 add your photos title to this attach the button and string then pleat a strip of patterned paper and place underneath

6 using the paper artsy mini stamp stamp the image as shown the repeat the stamp onto green card stock cutting out the bird house and mounting it onto 3d foam pads for dimension

7 finish off the layout by adding a few clouds and stitching the flower stems at the bottom of the page

Bits and pieces Day Three

One of my favorite things about scrapbooking is all the co ordinating lines especially the ones that have the element stickers to go with it!!!

FOr todays post i used the Bo Bunny line called Alissa. It has been out for a while now and it has been sitting in my stash waiting for the perfect time for me to pull it out and use it... do you ever do that or is it just me ??? lol.

Anyway i decided to put together 3 cards for you today using this gorgeous pretty line. I am on a really big card kick lately.

The first one...

The base of the card is done using the dotted swiss card stock the one with the scalloped edges on. They're online here.
The butterfly is one i had in my stash for along time so not sure where it is from but if you want to replicate this card you can use this punch from Martha Stewart as it is just gorgeous and has the holes in the wings as well...

As you can see i even decorated the inside of the card as well and the edge of the little flap, just to give it that finishing touch. I am not sure what sentiment i am going to put on the card so i have left it back.

My second card...
I used a normal base card for this one. The transparency heart shape was cut out of these...chipboard hearts
The edge punch is yet another Martha Stewart punch ( i think i have them all lol) this one here...
My third card is again made from a heart template. I did it so the tops of the hearts touched so it opened and shut just like a normal card.

TO do the scalloped edge i cut punched out some small circle and stuck them round the edge of the back of the card... easy as that...

Thanks for looking xxx

Here is the card that i made with the sketch...
I used the new October afternoon line called Farm Fresh When checking it out, you have to buy these!!! Just gorgeous!!!
To create the embellishment circle in the middle i used one of the stickers from this sticker set... and the letters that o linked to earlier.

The next sketch is this one...
I used a paperline from My Minds Eye called Be Loved...
I used this punch from Martha Steward. Gorgeous punch and i use it all the time!!!!! I ran the heart through the Cuttlebug embossing folder to give it some texture.
